There must be two internal examinations in a semester and the average of the two must be taken into account when assigning marks for internal examinations. The end-of-semester examination of the project work is carried out by the same committee that was set up for the industry-oriented mini-project. The evaluation of the project work is carried out at the end of the IV year.
Exclusion from all examinations and cancellation of performance in this subject and all other subjects already passed by the candidate, including practical examinations and project work, and will not be allowed to take the remaining examinations of the subjects of this semester/.

In the discrete case, the study of binomial and Poisson random variables and normal random variables for the continuous case predominantly describes the relevant probability distributions. In this unit the aim is to learn functions of many random variables using joint distributions. Types of sampling, Sampling distribution of means, Sampling distribution of variance, Estimates of statistical parameters, Hypothesis testing of some unknown statistical parameters.
Types of samples, expected values of sample mean and variance, sampling distribution, standard error, sampling distribution of means and sampling distribution of variance. Test of significance difference between sample mean and population mean; difference between means of two small samples. The student would be able to calculate means and proportions (small and large sample) and make important decisions based on single samples taken from uncontrollably large populations. It is especially useful for non-circuit branches of engineering.
Students would be able to find the expected queue length, ideal time, traffic intensity and waiting time. The student will be able to understand about random process, Markov process and Markov chains which are essentially models of many time dependent processes such as signals in communication, time series analysis, queuing systems. The student will be able to find limiting probabilities and probabilities in the nth state.
