Sky was partly cloudy to generally cloudy with light rain to

rather heavy rainfall of 82.0mm. Maximum temperatures ranged between 24.2-29.3°C and minimum ranged between 19.1-20.0°C. Mean relative humidity was 90-97% in morning and 72-93% in evening. Wind speed varied between 1.6-2.6 kmph.

There is possibility of light to moderate rain in the next five days. Sky may be partly to generally cloudy with a maximum and minimum temperature of 24-26°C & 18-19°C respectively. The expected relative humidity will be 95- 96% (maximum) & 59-66% (minimum). Wind direction will be 115-151Degree at a speed of 2-3kmph during the next five days.

 Prepare raised nursery bed of size 10m (length) × 1.25m (width) × 10cm (height) with 30cm wide channel between the two seed beds.

 Apply cow dung or compost@10-15kg/seed bedplus a starter dose of urea 80g, SSP 225g, MOP 40g per seed

 Collect seed of HYV like Shahsarang -1, Lampnah, IR 64,bed.

Ranjit, RCPL 1-412, RCPL 1-410, RCPL 1-411 & local varieties like Mendri, Manipuri, etc.

 650-1000g seed is required for each bed. (Nursery area of 500-600 sqm. is sufficient for transplanting of 1ha).

 Keep the main field ready for transplanting.

Seed treatment  Before sowing seeds should be treated with Bavistin 50WP@ 2g/l or Mancozeb 2.5g/l with water for 24hr to protect from fungal infestation.

Boro paddy Maturity/

Harvesting stage  Harvest mature crop and sun dry before storing.

Direct seeded Ahu Tillering/Panicle

initiation stage  Do top dressing of 1/3rdUrea (44Kg/ha) after 1st hand weeding at 25-30 DAS & apply remaining 1/3rd urea (44Kg/ha) after 2nd hand weeding at 40-45 DAS.

 Conserve water by repairing bunds.

Thrips  Farmers should keep vigilance against the attack of thrips and spray insecticide like Chloropyriphos @ 2ml/lit of water if moderate to high intensity is observed.

Blast  If blast spot are seen, apply Mencozeb @ 2g/litre or Carbendezime @1g/l. Spraying should be done in sunny weather and it should be withheld if rainfall is predicted in the coming days.

Jhum Rice Tillering  Bhalum 1, 2, 3; IRAT 109, IR 50 rice are in early tillering stage.

 Apply urea @ 35 kg/ha as top dressing after 20-25 DAS.

 Do hand weeding at 20-30 DAS.

formation stage  2ndtop dressing of urea @ 44kg/ha for HYV and 33Kg for local varieties at 45-60 days after germination.

 Weeding and second earthing up should be done now.

Stem borer  If shoot fly incidence occur in maize, applyFurandan 3Ggranules@ 2-3 granule to each whorl of plant.

Groundnut/Soybean Sowing/ Vegetative stage

Groundnut leaf miner/ Leaf folder

 Continue sowing of Groundnut (ICGS 76, JL 24) &

Soybean (JS 335, Bragg, Ankur) upto 1stweek of July.

 First hand weeding followed by earthing up should be done at 20-25DAS.

 Foliar sprays with acephate 1 g/l or chlorpyriphos 2.5 ml/l or monocrotophos 1.6 ml/l.

Pigeon Pea Land

preparation/sowing  Select well drained loamy soils for sowing.

 2-3 ploughing should be done followed by laddering.

 Apply 10 – 13 t/ha of FYM or compost by mixing thoroughly in the soil 1 - 2 weeks before sowing.

 Start sowing of red gram variety like UPAS-120 & T 21.

Ginger/ Turmeric Vegetative stage Leaf Spot

Rhizome rot (ginger)

 Do weeding followed by earthing up at 25-30DAS.

 To prevent Leaf Spot disease, apply Bordeaux mixture (5:5:50) after 4 – 5weeks of sowing or Captan @ 1.5 g/l of water.

 Spray/ drench 1% Bordeaux mixture or Dithane M-45 (2.5g/l ) to prevent rhizome rot.

Brinjal Flowering/

Fruiting Shoot & Fruit borer  Give three spraying withCarbaryl3 g/l orProfenofos 2ml/l orCypermethrin1 ml/l at 10 day interval from 3 weeks after transplanting if drooping of tender shoots and wilting is noticed.

Suggestion: Contact nearby State Agril. Staff or KVK staff for necessary help and suggestion.

Cattle/Buffalo  Immunization in cattle against Foot & Mouth disease, Haemorrhagic septicaemia & Black Quarter diseases.

Pig  Pig shed/ stay should keep dry and avoid dampness

during rainy days

 Repair the roof of pig stay to protect from rain.

 All newly born piglets should be vaccinated against Swine feverat the age of 2 months followed by booster and annual dose..

 Provide additional feed ingredients like broken rice wheat bran, broken maize along with kitchen waste, mineral mixture (20g/day).

 Deworming of pig/piglets with Albenoazole (5- 10mg/Kg body wt.) should be done.

Composite Fish

Culture Pre-stocking

management  Clean up the pond by removing unwanted vegetation, insects, etc.

 Apply Raw Cow Dung (RCD) @ 10,000 kg/ha, 15days before stocking of fingerlings.

 Liming should be done after checking the pH, apply lime

@ 2000kg/ha if the pH is 4.5-5.0 &1200 kg/ha if the pH is 5.0-6.0 after 7 days of RCD application.

Stocking  Release fingerlings of Catla: Rohu: Mrigal: Silver carp:

Grass carp: Common carp in a ratio of 2: 2: 1.5: 2: 1: 1.5

@ 6000-7500 fingerlings/ ha into the pond.

Post- stocking

management  Feed: Provide well balanced feeds of rice polish and mustard cake in a ratio of 1:1 by wt. @ 3% of their body wt. of fishes. Chopped green vegetation should be provided for grass carp.

 Apply raw cow dung @ 1000kg/ha, Urea @ 25 kg/ha, SSP @ 30kg/ha and lime @25kg/ha regularly in every month.
