8.6 Central Workshop
The Central Workshop caters to a wide variety of fabrication and maintenance jobs of the University. It has four sections: Carpentry, Fabrication / Welding Sections, Machine shop and Painting and Polish Sections.
About 274+50 various indents of the University were completed during the financial year 2013 – 2014. In addition the following listed 30 Units Major works were taken-up by the Central Workshop and completed during the year 2013 – 2014. Total Works completed= 274+50+ 30 Major Units Works= 354 Nos. Total indents completed at Central Workshop.
Items produced in the Central Workshop include the laboratory furniture [special tables, trolleys, shelves etc], class room furniture [desks, black boards], office furniture [chairs, tables, book-shelves] and many others as per the needs of the users. Research requirements especially of the Science Schools and other departments involving the precision works were also met by the Science complex Workshop.
The brief review of the performance of the Central Workshop lists the Maintenance jobs completed, Capital items manufactured and fabrication and making of Research oriented jobs undertaken & Major Works undertaken for the period from 1-4-2013 to 31-3-2014.

Maintenance works at the Science Complex, Lecture hall complex, Social Sciences, Humanities School, Library, S.N. School, South Campus Departments and various schools/Depts, fabrication works for Civil Engineering and Electrical engineering depts., and transport workshop also undertaken by the Central Workshop.
