Sanction of Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) is hereby accorded to the above mentioned project at a total cost of Rs. 2435000/- (Rs. Twenty Four Lakh Thirty Five Thousand  Only) with break-up of Rs.  1580000 /- under Capital (Non-recurring) head and Rs. 855000 /- under General (Recurring) head for a duration of three years. 2.  Sanction of the SERB is also accorded to the payment of 

Rs. 1580000/- (Rupees Fifteen Lakh Eighty Thousand only) under 'Grants for creation of capital assets' and Rs. 270000/- (Rupees Two Lakh Seventy Thousand only) under 'Grants-in-aid General' to Registrar,

Jamia Millia Islamia, Jamia Nagar New Delhi, Delhi

 being the first installment of the grant for the year 2015-2016 for implementation of the said research project.

3. The expenditure involved is debitable to

Fund for Science & Engineering Research (FSER) 

This release is being made under Start Up Reseach Grant (Young Scientists). (Life Sciences)

4. The Sanction has been issued to Jamia Millia Islamia, Jamia Nagar New Delhi, Delhi with the approval of the competent authority under delegated powers on 14 October, 2015 and vide Diary No.

SERB/F/4941/2015-16 dated 17 October, 2015

5. Sanction of the grant is subject to the conditions as detailed in Terms & Conditions available at website ( www.serb.gov.in).

6. Overhead expenses are meant for the host Institute towards the cost for providing infrastructural facilities and general administrative support etc. including benefits to the staff employed in the project.

7. While providing operational flexibility among various subheads under head Recurring-A, it should be ensured that not more than Rs. 1.5 lakh each should be spent for travel and contingency.

8. As per rule 211 of GFR, the accounts of project shall be open to inspection by sanctioning authority/audit whenever the institute is called upon to do so.

9. The sanctioned equipment would be procured as per GFR and its disposal of the same would be done

with prior approval of SERB.

11.The institute will furnish to the SERB, New Delhi, separate Utilization certificate(UCs) financial year wise to the SERB for Recurring (Grants-in-aid General) & Non-Recurring (Grants for creation of capital assets) and an audited statement of accounts pertaining to the grant immediately after the end of each financial year.

12. The institute will maintain separate audited accounts for the project. A part or whole of the grant must be kept in an interest earning bank account which is to be reported to SERB. The interest thus earned will be treated as credit to the institute to be adjusted towards further installment of the grant.

13. The project File no. YSS/2014/000393  may also be mentioned in all research communications arising from the above project with due acknowledgement of SERB.

14. The manpower sanctioned in the project, if any is co-terminus with the duration of the project and SERB will have no liability to meet the fellowship and salary of supporting staff if any. beyond the duration of the project

15. As this is the first grant being released for the project, no previous U/C is required.

16. The institute may refund any unspent balance to SERB by means of a Demand Draft favoring "FUND FOR SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING RESEARCH" payable at New Delhi.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS ARTICLE

^_ PURPOSE OF THE AGREEMENT

1.1 The Institution shall provide support to the Participant for undertaking a mobility activity for teaching and training under the Erasmusf Programme.

I,2 ^The Participant accepts the financial support as specified in Article 3 and undertakes to carry out

mobility activity for teaching

training

described in Annex

1.3. Amendments or modifications to the Agreement shall be agreed by both parties to this Agreement in the form of an Appendix or through one-sided notification of the amendment(s) provided to the Participant (by letter or by electronic message). The amendment will be confirmed by the Participant through the Participant's signature affixed to the Appendix or notification of the University about the approval of the amended conditions of financial support

letter or by electronic message.

ARTICLE

_ ENTRY INTO FORCE AND DURATION OF MOBILITY

2.1 The Agreement shall enter into force on the date when the last of the two parties has signed it.

2.2 The mobility period shall start on 3'd of January 2019 y. and end on

of January 2019 y. The start date of the mobility period shall be the first day thń

the Participant needs to be present at the receiving institution and the end date shall be the last day the Participant needs to be present

receiving institution.

One day for travel before the first day of the activity abroad and one day for travel following the last day of the activity abroad definęd in Article 2.ż shall be added to the duration of the mobility period and included in the calculation for individual support.

The Participant shall receive financial support to cover costs incurred in such two days.

2.3 The Participant shall receive financial support from Erasmus+ EU funds for 7 days of activity.

The total duration of the mobility period shall not exceed 2 months, with

minimum of

5

days per mobility activity. This provision is applicable only to teaching mobility. A

minimum of 8 hours of teaching per week has to be respected for a mobility period lasting one full week or less. If the mobility period is longer than one full week, the number of hours which the Participant must teach in a week which is not a full week will be proportionally greater.

The Participant may submit any request concerning the extension of the mobility period within the limit set out in Article 2.4. If the Institution

The Certificate of Attendance issued by the receiving institution shall provide the effective

3.1. ^The Participant shall receive 980 EUR corresponding to individual support and 820 EUR corresponding to travel. The amount of individual support is EUR ^{140.00 per}

day up to the

day of activity.

The final amount for the mobility period shall be determined by multiplying the number of days of the mobility specified in article 2.3 with the individual support rate applicable per day and adding the contribution for travel to the amount obtained.

3.2 The reimbursement of additional costs incurred in connection with special needs, when applicable, shall be based on the supporting documents provided by the Participant confirming that additional costs have beęn paid, up to the amount determined in the

decision on the grant of additional funds connected with the special needs (reimbursement for costs actually incuned).

3.3 The Participant hereby represents and warrants that słre has not received any other EU

funds to cover costs already funded by EU funds for the period in which financial support will be granted as defined in this Agreement.

3.4 Notwithstanding Article 3.3, additional financial support from other sotrrce of funding granted in order to complete the teaching and training prografi}me agreed in Annex I is permitted.

3.5 ^{The financial} support or part of it shall be recovered if the Participant does not observe the conditions of the Agreement. However, reimbursement shall not be requested when

the Participant has been prevented from completing hislher mobilĘ activities ^as

described in Annex I due to force majeure. In such cases the Participant will ^be eligible to receive an amount which is proportional to the actual mobiliĘ ^period as defined in

Article 2.3. Such cases must be reported by the Participant to the Institution immediatęly after the occurrence of a force majeure event and accepted by the National Agency.

ARTICLE

- PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS

4.1 Within 14 calendar days following the signature of the Agreement by both parties, and no later than the

date of the mobility period,

pre-financing payment shall be made to the Participant representin g I00% of the financial support specified in Article

4.ż The Participant must provide proof of the actual dates of start and end of the mobility period, based on

certificate of attendance provided by the receiving organisation.

- PARTICIPANT'S MOBILITY REPORTS - ^{online EU Survey}

The Participant shall complete and submit the online EU Survey after the mobility abroad within 30 calendar days upon receipt of the invitation to complete

- ^INSURANCE

6.I ^The Participant confirms that slhe is aware of problems connected with health insurance (including in particular in case of repatriation and specific medical intervention). The Participant must take out private insurance to cover costs of treatment during the time of travel and entire mobility period under the Erasmusi teachiny'training mobility programme.

6.2 The Participant undertakes to conclude an insurance agreement for the coverage of

consequences of any misadventure.

6.4 Participants who are Polish nationals must register with Odyseusz service maintained by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

ARTICLE

- APPLICABLE LAW AND COMPETENT COURT

The Agreement is governed by the Polish law.

The competent court determined in accordance with the applicable national law shall have sole jurisdiction to hear any dispute between the Institution and the Participant concerning the interpretation, application or validity of this Agreement, if such dispute cannot be settled amicably.

2017 CITATION

The Basanti Devi Amir Chand Prize is the earliest instituted award of ICMR, founded in 1953 by (Late) Major General Amir Chand for the significant research contributions made by scientists in the field of biomedical sciences. This prize is awarded to a research scientist engaged in any area of biomedical sciences. The award for the year 2017 is being presented to Dr Mohammad Zahid Ashraf, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi for the research work on “Cardiovascular biology”.

Dr Ashraf has been instrumental in resolving the mystery behind blood clotting on high-altitude hypoxia exposures. His work has exhibited the role of Calpain activation, NLRP3-Caspase1-IL1ß-signaling and miR- 145 in the thrombus formation and is in the process of their translational and commercial applications. His findings are acknowledged globally and documented in various journals-of-repute.

You are aware that UGC provides financial assistance to the College Teachers to encourage research,

funding Minor Research Proiects (MRPS). Such proposals for MRPS are initially assessed by the respective College Assessment Committees

and then fonrvarded to UGC. The UGC, with the help of ^Expert Committees constituted for various subiects, take decisions for funding such proposals, on case to case basis. The detailed guidelines, available at www.uoc.ac.in, are also enclosed for ready reference.

You may be aware that Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is running several professional courses on the campus as well as through affiliated Institutions. University School of Education is running programmes in the area of teacher preparation. B.Ed. Programme is being run through affiliated colleges and M.Ed. Programme is run on the University Campus. Till the academic year 2014-15 both these programme were of one year duration each.

As per the notification of National Council for Teacher Education dated November 28, 2014, our University has initiated the exercise of finalisation of the draft syllabus as well as working out other details of both the programmes which have become of two year duration each. Our school has prepared suggestive outlines of the same for the purpose of initiating discussion.

The School has planned subject related groups to work on the draft syllabus prepared by us. We look forward to have you with us on April 24, 2015 at 11.00 a.m. onwards in room no. C-403, Block-C of our Dwarka, Delhi, Campus. Needless to say that TA/DA and conveyance charges for attending this meeting will be borne by us as per University Norms.

institutions in India) is bringing out a refereed journal "Teacher

Support" (ISSN: 0975-4595). The Teacher Support has been a refereed bilingual journal devoted to innovative practices/experiences/

experiments//reflections on teacher education and teaching learning. Now, the journal shall be published three times a year.

I am specially writing you with a request to join the Journal as its honorary Co-Editor and help in the editing of the journal. There shall be Associate Editors to help you in the process.

I am directed to inform that NCTE has decided to convene the meeting of the journal ‘Teacher Support’

published by NCTE scheduled to be held on 15-16

November, 2015 (Sunday & Monday) at 10:00 A.M. at Conference Room, 1st Floor, NCTE, Hqs., Wing-II, Hans Bhawan, 1, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi - 110002.

The following issues shall be discussed in the meeting:-

· Articles shall be refereed and also edited by Editorial Board;

· Accepted papers submitted by authors to be reviewed again, and if discrepancies are found, the same may be re- sent to the authors for revision;

· To adopt strategies for obtaining research papers for publishing in future;

· To take immediate action for National / International abstracting / indexing of the journal;

· To solicit book reviews on teacher education, etc. in Hindi; and

· To develop Data Base of reviewers for the papers.

2. TA/DA and sitting fee shall be paid as per NCTE’s Rules.

3. It is also requested to the members of the Journals Committee to bring the research papers/articles of the last Journal’s meeting held on 18-19th July, 2015 in NCTE with corrections / modifications and with reviews on the papers.

4. Therefore, it is requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting on the above said date and time. Kindly furnish your confirmation to attend said meeting at the earliest by return e-mail or SMS.
