• Provide regular students the flexibility of attending classes at multiple locations as and when considered feasible.

(15)

Modes of Delivery

Synchronous: A learning event in which geographically distributed students are engaged via video/ Web

conferencing tools and can simultaneously take part in a discussion.

Semi-Synchronous: Some part of the course content/

interactive sessions is in the form of synchronous

learning, rest of the content is available in on-demand streaming format.

Blended Learning: Blended learning combines delivery

of instruction material via videos that are played in the

classroom, face-to-face mentoring and local hands-on

laboratories/ workshops.

(16)

DEI ICT Center: Timarni-Rajaborari

DEI has empowered a cluster of 10 villages in Madhya

Pradesh having an Adivasi population of over 5000 with concept of self-sufficiency, sustainability (eco-

friendliness), provided smart technology intervention,

quality education that is ICT enabled adequate

communication infrastructure.

(17)

Connectivity to Remote Tribal Areas: The Rajaborari Experience

A high speed wireless backhaul network has been established between Timarni and

Mahagoan, and extended to the villages of Rajaborari, Salai,

Gulardhana, Temrubahar and Mogradhana.

A 16Mbps MPLS VPN link from BSNL connects Timarni to DEI, Dayalbagh.

Integrated into the DEI LAN, all the services available to

students at DEI main campus are also available to students in the Rajaborari Cluster.

(18)

Reaching the last person on the last mile

• Dayalbagh has partnered with BSNL in customizing the

technology to take the E1 radio link up to this cluster of villages.

• Connected to the rest of the

world, the local Adivasis use the internet facility for a variety of ICT services like getting information on government schemes, email, applying for jobs, scholarships, registering and applying for

financial assistance under various government schemes.

Technology Takes Progressive Language Learning Programmes to Virtual Level!

(i-c-n-c-) TALL

Dayalbagh Educational Institute has established (iNFORMATION-cOMMUNICATION-nEURO-

cOGNITIVE-) Technologies Assisted Language Lab, popularly called “(i-c-n-c-) TALL” to facilitate the

teaching and learning of various languages, and also to encourage interdisciplinary research in the

realms of consciousness, literature and languages.

Apart from the functions of a conventional

(analogue) language lab, the lab also has advanced Artificial Intelligence Tools, authoring tools for

content creation, guided lesson workshops, languages learning material, etc.

(38)

Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Literature at (i-c-n-c-)TALL

The center encourages interdisciplinary

research in the domains of psycholinguistics, Computational linguistics, Neurolinguistics, science of consciousness, Foreign language teaching, etc.

To mark the beginning of such initiatives experiments in Neuroaesthetics have been conducted to study the impact of various literary texts on human brain and also

personality using Magnetoencephalography (MEG).

One of the primary objectives of (i-c-n-c-) TALL is to conserve and disseminate the treasure of Sanskrit language , the language of Gods,

language of transcendental consciousness by using ICT .

(39)

(i-c-n-c-) TALL

• The efficacy of Technology Assisted Language Learning has been tested with primary level language learners. The enthusiasm of the children is worth watching and the results are overwhelming.

(40)

The Quantum-Nano Centre

A multidisciplinary center set up under MHRD National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), with

partners as IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi and IIT Madras, besides several international collaborators.

Provides an environment for scientists and

mathematicians to explore the fundamental physical characteristics of quantum systems, to devise and implement prototype quantum computers, and to develop quantum algorithms and novel applications.

Through a vigorous program of lectures, seminars, and workshops, the Centre stimulates intellectual exchange among students, faculty, and academic partners.

Videos of all the lectures/ Conferences/ Seminars/

Workshops are available at

Solar Initiatives at DEI

Taken initiatives in harnessing the renewable energy through Solar thermal and Solar

Photovoltaic (SPV) power plants.

The institute has Solar Thermal Cooking systems in all the hostels. T

he whole university campus is powered by 11 Distributed Roof-Top Solar PV power Plants aggregating to a total of 658.2kWp, installed during 2011-2016.

The micro grid is being converted into a

Smart Micro Grid with centralized monitoring and control of all power plants with the help of a need-based R&D project funded by DST CERI.

A 200 kWp solar-agriculture farm is being developed in the Dairy campus as part of DST Mission Innovation R&D project.
