AAROHANA CLUB, KLUSO once again extended its wings by conducting a 4 DAY TREK to serene hills and natural sceptic beauty of Araku and Maredumilli. The most awaited trek had its on journey on 31st August, 2012 at 11p.m from A.O office after Sri Koneru Raja Harin waving a flag as a sign of

(14)

onset for the six buses. All the 240 students greeted Sri Koneru Raja Harin with a loud round of claps as a mark of gratitude.

By 4.00 am, the next day we all reached Rajahmundry and rooms were allotted to boys and girls respectively for refreshments including breakfast. By 7.00 am, we embarked on our journey to Maredumilli. Being a new place to most of the students, there was full length enthusiasm and excitement in everyone’s face adding to those new student companions next to their seats provided much more curiosity levels to know about each and other. The planning committee fulfilled their expectations to the fullest by fitting the best spots in and around Maredumilli in to the day’s plan which includes seetalapalli vagu, Bhupatipalem dam, trek to rampa water falls, jalataringini waterfalls. In the dinner, we included the “Bamboo Chicken” which is the most famous dish of Maredumilli. Students relished the taste of it to the full. Having finished dinner followed by a campfire in Maredumilli valley, we got back into buses to continue our voyage to Araku at 11 pm.

On 2nd September, 2012 at around 6 am, students reached the lodges allotted in the city of vizag to refresh and by 9.00 am students were in their respective buses after finishing their breakfast. From there we moved to Burra caves travelling by the ghat road of Araku, all the students were

spellbound by the beauty of Araku valley and the tunnels and for a minute thought that they were in a new abode. All the students stuck to their windows capturing every frame of the natural beauty in their camcorders. Having reached Burra caves, students had their lunch and visited one of the ancient caves in the world. Students got enchanted by such a natural architecture and hollowness of the caves.

The most striking feature for the entire trek is the campfire conducted by our students in the resorts of Araku valley; there was full flow of healthy entertainment and enjoyment after the dinner which included dancing, mimicry and singing. After campfire, students moved to their cottages for their night stay.

On the third Day, we started early from resorts after having breakfast for a 5km trek to Ranajilleda waterfalls, one of the spectacular spots in Araku valley for trekking. The 5km walk went on in a sportive mood where our students sang songs as a mark of “ANTAKSHARI” which filled enthusiasm in the whole group. Having reached to the waterfall early, students had plenty amount of time to enjoy the chill flow of water which reactivated the nervous system. After coming back from the

Ranajilleda, students had their lunch in the resorts. From there we moved to “CHAPARAI”, a

smacking natural water slide. Students were at ultimate levels of fun and enjoyment sliding through the water flow again and again which took them backs their childhood times.

At around 6 pm, we got back onto our return journey through the ghat road during which we stopped at a place in the midst of the forest where we had dinner which brought the feel of having

“Vanabhojanam”, a different feel for each and every student.

On the whole, all the students were at utmost satisfaction and enjoyment during the entire trek.

This trek gave them a good chance to interact with all the streams of students and make new friends. It brought the inner message of essence of having teamwork to have a successful event performed. Students started to walk down their memory lane of the past three days and recap the sweet memories and moments they spent along with their friends and one can clearly observe that they are eagerly awaiting another such kind of trek in near future.
