— Compulsory Core Course – adopted since 1969 (Launch year of NSS by Govt. of India) with 2 Program Officers and 200 students.

— Offered to all First & Second year students of all undergraduate Streams of the Institute – Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Science & Social Sciences.

— Acclaimed for its unique community outreach programs including organization of Free Medical &

Assistance Camps for rural and under- privileged people

NSS @ DEI – Continuous Evaluation

NSS is one of the essential components of the curriculum of the Institute. The performance of the volunteers is evaluated through a compulsory course at UG level. The break-up of marks for evaluation is as follows:

— General Activities : 100 Marks

— Special Camp : 70 Marks

— Written Examinations : 30 Marks

2013-18

Prof. Pravin Saxena, Coordinator, NSS received “Letter of

Appreciation” for his valuable contribution in SWEEP Program organized by National Election Commission at Lucknow.

Team NSS, DEI got “First Prize in Skit Competition: Nukkad Natak on Jaago Matdata Jago” organized by National Election Commission at Lucknow.

Ms. Vidushi Chauhan, NSS Volunteer (B. Com. II Year) got “First

Prize with Cash Reward of Rs. 10,000 in National Level Essay

Writing Competition” organized by RGNIYD, Ministry of Youth

Affairs and Sports, New Delhi.
