JMI organises two-week online Refresher Course in Computational & Mathematical Sciences
New Delhi, November 9: The UGC-HRDC Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organised a two- week online refresher course in Computational & Mathematical Sciences for College and University teachers from October 22nd to November 5th , 2021. The course was conducted in association with the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Mathematics of the university. JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar inaugurated the course.
Renowned speakers from eminent educational and research institutions from across the country have trained participants to tackle emerging concepts, innovative technical solutions and new challenges in teaching and research. The online test of the participants was also conducted.
Course Coordinators Dr. Mansaf Alam, Department of Computer Science and Dr. M. Y Abbasi, Department of Mathematics conducted the course.
Chief Guest of the Valedictory Session, Prof. Seemi Farhat Basir, Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, JMI in her address, highlighted the importance of the refresher course and its theme.
She also emphasized the importance of Mathematics & Computer Science in the current scenario, and the use of artificial intelligence in daily life.
The Guest of Honour Prof Pavnesh Kumar, Dean, School of Management Science, Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, Bihar has also focused on the multidisciplinary nature of the course.
Prof. Anisur, Rehman, Director, HRDC, JMI welcomed the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour, Prof. Ayub Khan, Head, Department of Mathematics and Prof. S. M. K Quadri, Head Department of Computer Science who chaired the valedictory session.
Dr. M. Yahya Abbasi, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics presented the Vote of Thanks.
