DDU-KK, JMI commemorates 106th Birth Anniversary of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay The Deen Dayal Upadhyay KAUSHAL Kendra (DDU-KK), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organised a lecture on “Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay: Philosophy and Integral Humanism” to commemorate 106th birth anniversary of renowned reformer Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay on 28th September, 2022. The purpose of the lecture was not only to pay homage to him but to reflect upon his ideologies too.
Guest speaker Prof. Girish Chandra Pant, Department of Sanskrit, JMI graced the occasion with his presence and spoke in depth on the topic which advocates the simultaneous and integrated program of the body, mind and intellect and soul of each human being.
The program began with an address by Prof. Meryam Sardar, Hony. Director DDU KK, JMI, who welcomed all guests, speakers and students who attended the lecture in large numbers. She felicitated the guest speaker with a token of appreciation. She then thanked the Vice Chancellor, JMI, Prof. Najma Akhtar, for her constant support and encouragement to the centre. She also extended her gratitude to the Registrar, JMI, Prof. Nazim Hussain Jafri.
Prof Syed Akhtar Hussain, Hony Director, Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, further introduced the Guest speaker to begin the session.
DDU KAUSHAL Kendra, JMI was set up on the vision of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay by the UGC in the year 2015 under Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Skill India Scheme. This kendra at JMI has been successfully running vocational courses in Medical Lab Sciences and Medical Electrophysiology, empowering young minds and providing a skilled taskforce to the healthcare sector.
Faculty members, namely Dr. M Monis Khan, Dr. Shahnaz Parveen, Dr. Mohammad Misbah, Dr.
Saad Mustafa and Dr. Amena Mahmood, along with the non-teaching staff of the department were present during the program. It ended with a vote of thanks by the student representative.
